WinEdt comes at a price, but its by far the best windows tex editor I have used.

TexNic is great and latexxEditor seems great too. They are both free.

Ok, LaTex Editor has realy grown up. The User interface is more freindly and the packages is less cumbersome. Also the add-on management process works like a breeze.

For the price of free, this is an excellent package.

And if you ask my opinion, it is getting better than many costly alternatives. The developer deserve any and every donations you may wish to give them for this work. Its is just awesome.
